This dark or dim display problem on Volkswagen Touareg 7L (2002-2010) and Porsche Cayenne 955 / 957 (2002-2010) instrument clusters with colour LCD display is a very common fault, and it’s caused by some defective components on the PCB of cluster: 1 transformer, 2 inductors and 3 transistors.
